But if you don't use it how he demands you're punished with damnation. The Bible isn't about being "good" or "bad," it's about obedience.
As Jesus said the most important law is to love God with all your mind, body and soul. He also says that no one can "come to the father but through me." Therefore you can't even go to heaven unless you believe in Jesus.
Now this is what the Bible says. You're probably going to say, "You can't take the Bible literally." Well I'm going to argue that you're not taking Jesus's words to heart. You call yourself a Christian yet you're not going to listen to the one you call your Lord and Savior. What you're doing is putting your own personal spin on God on how YOU want him to be. This is NOT the God of the Bible.
Jesus also said the law will only come to an end at the end of all things. So that means the Old Testament is still in play. The same Old Testament that says slavery, murder, rape and pillaging (These were commands by God to the Israelites during war). Also in Timothy it says that a woman should be subjugated to a man. Heck if a man rapes a young virgin he must pay her father 50 pieces of silver and marry her. That's moral, have the rape victim marry her rapist.
It's never been about morality, it's about obedience. When you can't bribe with heaven, threaten with hell. And hell didn't even come in to play until until Christianity, not Judaism.

The bible also says "One of the teachers of the law came and heard them debating. Noticing that Jesus had given them a good answer, he asked him, "Of all the commandments, which is the most important?" "The most important one," answered Jesus, "is this: 'Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.' The second is this: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no commandment greater than these." (NIV, Mark 12:28-31).
and that On one occasion an expert in the law stood up to test Jesus. "Teacher," he asked, "what must I do to inherit eternal life?" "What is written in the Law?" he replied. "How do you read it?" He answered: "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind'; and, 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'" "You have answered correctly," Jesus replied. "Do this and you will live." But he wanted to justify himself, so he asked Jesus, "And who is my neighbor?" In reply Jesus said: "A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, when he fell into the hands of robbers. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him and went away, leaving him half dead. A priest happened to be going down the same road, and when he saw the man, he passed by on the other side. So too, a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him. He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, took him to an inn and took care of him. The next day he took out two silver coins and gave them to the innkeeper. 'Look after him,' he said, 'and when I return, I will reimburse you for any extra expense you may have.' "Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?" The expert in the law replied, "The one who had mercy on him." Jesus told him, "Go and do likewise."
So to rehash Deuteronomy you are supposed to kill your own family if they don't follow the same God as you. This isn't the first instance since God does command, on numerous times, that the Israelites slaughter the non-believers.
What about Job? God ruined his life all because of what? A bet with the devil? Then when Job got pissed off what did God do? He screamed at Job telling him off. Why shouldn't Job be pissed? God killed his family, ruined his lively hood and made him suffer from disease. And when Job demands answers what does God do? He pretty much says fuck off I do what I want and you should obey and worship me regardless. Now you're going to tell me that this is "my interpretation" of the verse and of the story. But come on! How do you justify this? How can any leader justify it?
And in the end what happened? SATAN WON! Job rejected God for pretty much tearing him down and then kicking him while he was down. For what reason? That is not justice, that is not moral, that is an egotistical, maniacal asshole who truly demonstrates he doesn't care about his people.
"But he sent Jesus down."
Okay so God conceived himself in his own mother to give birth to himself in order to sacrifice himself (in the most torturous and inhumane way imaginable at the time) to himself for the sake of creating a loophole in a law that he otherwise created, rather than just being forgiving.
But what do you expect from the deity that commands a man to kill his own son.
-"But he stopped Abraham"
Again that's all about obedience. How far are you willing to go for God? Cause like it was already laid out, you better choose God and Jesus over your own family. They're more important. To the point that you should even KILL your own loved ones.
But please continue to lecture me on how the Bible is about teaching right and wrong and not about obedience. Cause this sounds so much more like a Stalinist dictatorship to me.

Unless commanded by God himself
Suppose you hear in one of the towns the LORD your God is giving you that some worthless rabble among you have led their fellow citizens astray by encouraging them to worship foreign gods. In such cases, you must examine the facts carefully. If you find it is true and can prove that such a detestable act has occurred among you, you must attack that town and completely destroy all its inhabitants, as well as all the livestock. Then you must pile all the plunder in the middle of the street and burn it. Put the entire town to the torch as a burnt offering to the LORD your God. That town must remain a ruin forever; it may never be rebuilt. Keep none of the plunder that has been set apart for destruction. Then the LORD will turn from his fierce anger and be merciful to you. He will have compassion on you and make you a great nation, just as he solemnly promised your ancestors. "The LORD your God will be merciful only if you obey him and keep all the commands I am giving you today, doing what is pleasing to him." Deuteronomy 13:13-19
Suppose a man or woman among you, in one of your towns that the LORD your God is giving you, has done evil in the sight of the LORD your God and has violated the covenant by serving other gods or by worshiping the sun, the moon, or any of the forces of heaven, which I have strictly forbidden. When you hear about it, investigate the matter thoroughly. If it is true that this detestable thing has been done in Israel, then that man or woman must be taken to the gates of the town and stoned to death. Deuteronomy 17:2-5
Jesus NEVER spoke out against this. At all. Not once. Like I said, he continues to tell people to OBEY the law. This is the law. Your God, the same father of Christ, commanded this.

According to YOUR law, a serial killing rapist of children can go to heaven if he repents. However, as Jesus said the only way for anyone to go to heaven is to go through him, which means that if God does exist and the Bible is correct, I, as an atheist, will go to hell simply because I reject Jesus.
Remember Jesus said to obey the law. What's the law? What was written in scripture:
They entered into a covenant to seek the Lord, the God of their fathers, with all their heart and soul; and everyone who would not seek the Lord, the God of Israel, was to be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman. 2 Chronicles 15:12-13
If your own full brother, or your son or daughter, or your beloved wife, or you intimate friend, entices you secretly to serve other gods, whom you and your fathers have not known, gods of any other nations, near at hand or far away, from one end of the earth to the other: do not yield to him or listen to him, nor look with pity upon him, to spare or shield him, but kill him. Your hand shall be the first raised to slay him; the rest of the people shall join in with you. You shall stone him to death, because he sought to lead you astray from the Lord, your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, that place of slavery. And all Israel, hearing of this, shall fear and never do such evil as this in your midst. Deuteronomy 13:7-12
Don't rehash Bible verses to me, I've devoted six years to reading the scriptures, studying Christian documents and researching Christian history so there is NOTHING you can say to me that is going to change that. And don't start telling me I misunderstand anything. You pick and choose what YOU decided to interpret from the Bible. You can't take the good and ignore the bad, it doesn't work that way

"You won't accept a logical standpoint due to predetermined bias"
Oh yeah I guess it was predetermined, and not from YEARS of actually researching the religion. You know going to Catholic school and ceasing my Christian beliefs when I discovered the truths and facts. When I was willing to step out of my religious mind frame and look at ALL religions from a skeptical point of view and discovering that NONE of them can actually claim that they're right. But okay it's predetermined biased. I was only trying to strengthen my core belief at the time
But great argument, outstanding!

in Jeremiah 31:31-34: ""Behold, days are coming," declares the LORD, "when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah, not like the covenant which I made with their fathers in the day I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, My covenant which they broke, although I was a husband to them," declares the LORD. "But this is the covenant which I will make with the house of Israel after those days," declares the LORD, "I will put My law within them and on their heart I will write it; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. They will not teach again, each man his neighbor and each man his brother, saying, 'Know the LORD,' for they will all know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them," declares the LORD, "for I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more."" Notice that God said the covenant (or testament) would be different from the law given at Mount Sinai.
Wait, wait
"I've done the same and you]re pulling up rules from random men. who gives a shit about them? are they God? are they Jesus? no? they can fuck off lol"
Whoa, whoa, whoa hypocritical much? Rules of random men so you don't a shit, yet you use the same rules from another random guy to try and negate what the others, heck even Jesus said?!?! Come on slayerbrk

“For truly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass the law until all is accomplished. Whoever then relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but he who does them and teaches them shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 5:18-19

Oh NOW the Commandments apply. Weren't those given to the Jews at MOUNT SINAI?!
But you said the law changed. But the Commandments are still viable? Come on dude.
Show me the verse where Jesus specifically says this. You were able to give me verses before!

Show me the verse where Jesus specifically says this. You were able to give me verses before!
Show me the verse where Jesus specifically says not to kill anyone?
But Jesus did say this:
"Whoever curses father or mother shall die" Mark 7:10
Oh and what about the whole, "The step towards wisdom is fear of God?" Part. Yep

So now the 10 Commandments have become invalid? Again what point does Jesus serve? That entire verse proves Jesus was pointless does it not?
Oh wait here we go:
"Go up, my warriors, against the land of Merathaim and against the people of Pekod. Yes, march against Babylon, the land of rebels, a land that I will judge! Pursue, kill, and completely destroy them, as I have commanded you," says the LORD. "Let the battle cry be heard in the land, a shout of great destruction". Jeremiah 50:21-22
Wow God sure does sound nice doesn't he?

How did we get here? The whole point is that Christianity is about obedience, not about good or bad. I mean come on, I already pointed that out to you numerous times I don't even know how you can persist on denying it
But I'll get to the "Law of the land" sooner. Because of you were a true Christian you're supposed ot obey God's law over man's law

What would you suggest them? A place where murderers and rapists and the such get off scott free for all time? Truly, I'd love to hear an idea. Also, it's not just "being bad" that gets you into Hell, you need to be pretty damn bad. Most of the stuff just gets you into Purgatory, where you are cleansed of your sin before Heaven.

Yep because it has to be black and white right? They are either punished forever or not at all right? No. They should experience the pain they caused others or are isolated out of heaven for a certain time period. Hell humans have a better punishment system than God does.

Interesting point about needing to feel the pain they caused others: That's exactly what they do experience. They experience the same sort of pain they have caused to God and to their fellow man. Also, God's is the most mercy-full system. As long as you truly repent, even if it is only in the instant before death, God will forgive you and welcome you into paradise. He gives you a lifetime of chances, and only once you turn down all of them do you suffer pain proportionate to what you have caused.

A life time is nothing compared to the rest of eternity. And the rest of eternity is an unjust punishment for any crime committed. If God is real he's is an extremely unjust deity, especially when you factor in that he has broken rules that sent mortals to Hell.

Actually, it isn't. The pain caused to God by our sin is unimaginable, whether it is mortal or venial, but He still wants us to go to heaven, He just make Hell, and purgatory, for that mattter, so that a choice would exist, and that justice would as well.
I assume you refer to things like the flood here. It's an interesting point that those things are sins for people, but examine it this way: God gives us all our life, and our very existence. For another creation to take that away is indeed wrong, it'd be like one child taking a toy from another. However, for God to do so, it is merely taking back something that he gave us and continues to give us every day of our lives, which is more akin to a sponsor taking away the funds he gives an artist because they have a disagreement.

I agree with you though I still think your arguing the wrong end, he keeps saying its unjust yet you already disproved that with your point of a lifetime of chances. 70 years is more than enough time to take 5 seconds and apologize for your sins as to get into heaven.
