Really, your own mother shouldn't be doing that kind of thing. That thing needs to be relegated to either an agreement between the brothers, or a scheduled play thing, either based on an 'every other day' kinda thing, or a total play time for the day thing. If it comes down to one being able to request from mother the chance to override the other's play time, it will lead to fighting, and rivalry, as well as implied favoritism from mother.

when I was still living at home, I bought a DS and whenever my brother wanted to play it, I'd get grounded for 10 days if I didn't give it to him right away, even if I had just started to play. it was bullshit.
