Ive kind of always been on this Internet explorer hate train, but I've never really understood why, can anyone actually tell me? My friend was using Internet explorer and I asked him why do you use that, why not chrome, and he was like why? I didnt really have a valid answer...
Valid question.
Basically, it is just everything that is wrong with the web. As a developer, I have to spend another 3-6 hours on websites making them work with IE 7+
It is the bane of all developers.
It is also unbelievably slow, has too many loop holes to count (the most recent one being an attacker could take control of your entire computer, just from some "simple" code if you went to the site.
The release cycle is sporadic, and nothing ever really improves. While Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Opera (and others) pretty much support HTML5 and CSS3, IE is still lagging behind.
Can't think of anymore at the moment, if you need more reasons let me know.

Now I know it said "Wouldn't have" and not "Couldn't have"
But it's not too hard to navigate to download via FTP... that doesn't need a web browser...
or sudo apt-get install firefox
or sudo apt-get install chromium
or sudo apt-get install midori

Windows has a program to download a browser if you don't have anyone installed.
If you remove IE and all other browsers, it will ask you to download a browser.

Chrome was included in my motherboard drivers, so I didn't need Explorer
