Try Cockatrice. It is a program that lets you build your own deck online and play against people with it. It is a lot of fun.

I play a lot of Magic. Its fun.

magic is more expensive but wizards actually puts thought into what they print so it isn't a broken game where only one deck wins (ignore delver and caw blade)
User avatar #426 to #381 - yuisa (11/27/2012) [-]
And now we just wait for the next UW powerhouse to be discovered.
#479 to #426 - nothesecondone (11/28/2012) [-]
i like american flash tempo right now, it's a very good deck. i recently top 8ed in my local fnm only losing to my friend playing craterhoof reanimator twice in the tourney
User avatar #480 to #479 - yuisa (11/28/2012) [-]
Hoof is a tough match up for the deck. I went 4-0 with just UW flash faced 1 person with Hoof and they had shitty draws. The rest were just bad players.
#481 to #480 - nothesecondone (11/28/2012) [-]
yeah shitty match ups happen. my friend is a way better player than i am so i made stupid misplays like countering things that didn't matter and revealing too much information about my hand :/
User avatar #482 to #481 - yuisa (11/28/2012) [-]
It happens. You'll grow out of it. To be playing a real deck while still at that level is impressive though.
#483 to #482 - nothesecondone (11/28/2012) [-]
thanks. i've been playing since a month or so before standard rotated to innastrad. i'm an all right player but i dont have a schedule that allows me go to fnm or drafts often so i am forced to borrow cards from said friend. I'm glad someone on this site plays magic at a competitive level
User avatar #484 to #483 - yuisa (11/28/2012) [-]
Thanks. It doesn't get too much more than FNMs for me lately. The last 2 opens I went to I went 4-4-drop. I was convinced that BG Zombies was bound to be a deck, rather than actually taking the meta into account. Live and learn I suppose.

vWhat he said
I highly recommend the game, though.

be patient.
don't blow too much money on it, lots of money isn't necessary for a good deck.
try all different types of magic to find which one is your favorite.

Green/blue is my favorite kind of deck.
User avatar #420 to #382 - rtsgamer (11/27/2012) [-]
I have a Lrd of the Unreal Illusion deck, its not standard but really fun for casual, without the phantasmal images its a pretty cheap deck and extremely fun
