What's an instrument?
User avatar #152 to #151 - onceman (11/26/2012) [-]
He plays more instruments than most other rappers.
User avatar #159 to #152 - watermelonkittie (11/26/2012) [-]
Then enlighten me, which instruments does he actually play?
User avatar #162 to #159 - onceman (11/26/2012) [-]
He said he wanted to learn guitar so he would play when he had a girl over. He's not the greatest, he can barely maintain a decent riff, but I'm giving credit where credit is due and he's trying. Also he's been a fan of Nirvana since he was a child so I'm pretty sure he's pretty familiar with instruments.
#166 to #162 - lazragoon ONLINE (11/26/2012) [-]
He can't play guitar. When I taught myself to play guitar at 10 I could play better.
User avatar #174 to #166 - onceman (11/26/2012) [-]
Well it's easier for a young person to learn, and you gotta understand he's not a new artist he signed his first contract 20 years ago, it's hard for a 30 year old to learn guitar when all he's done his entire life is rap.
#179 to #174 - lazragoon ONLINE (11/26/2012) [-]
He's a ************************* . He could of had the best of the best to teach him, he just decided he would pick up a guitar and play, thinking it would be easy. His latest solo comprised of 3 notes, on the high e string, played off time.
User avatar #180 to #179 - onceman (11/26/2012) [-]
Well it's a rap so...
User avatar #234 to #180 - watermelonkittie (11/26/2012) [-]
That is a bad argument. Every backing track (also the basic backbone of rap) is in a key. There are 7 different notes that fit in to that key. Soloing is not that hard, but he sucks so hard at it they don't want to plug him in. Also, that guy is not allowed to call himself a musician if he can't even play a 3 note solo in synch with his track.
User avatar #164 to #162 - watermelonkittie (11/26/2012) [-]
I've seen that **** . He is not trying, he is trying to show off because he can hold a guitar. Most of the shows it isn't even plugged in. I am actually offended by that guy trying to show off with an instrument he can't play. (Fyi, I am a guitar player aswell, influenced by classical music)

For being a noob (never took classes, I'm learning on my own by searching on Google), I'm quite proud of being able to play 3 chords after 2 weeks. However, playing only 3 chords is a bit boring, I hope it'll get better when I improve.

Don't forget Kirk Hammet or even Slash.
Great songs...
But if Op's right, those 3 cords will make 3000 people burst into energy and happiness, and a jazz player who plays "3000" cords will make us more sensible, or a little bit more.
I respect both styles, and hurray for Jimmie!

Kirk Hammet and Slash. Do you even guitar?
User avatar #48 to #42 - gmaxx ONLINE (11/26/2012) [-]
They made history in rock music like Joe Satriani and Hendtrix.
And yes, i do guitar for a long time kid, more than you even imagine
User avatar #57 to #48 - teseus (11/26/2012) [-]
That's the most painful stuff ever. People are going to remember Slash and Hammet for the longest time, yet guys like Randy Rhoads and Tony Iommi are overlooked very often. They are the ones who really made history, they influenced a lot of bands and guitarists, not Slash, not Hammet. They are above average at best. (Yet I have to agree, Hammet has SOME good solos, mostly in St. Anger)
#63 to #57 - hearmenow (11/26/2012) [-]
Wow. You haven't got a clue. The album St.Anger has a huge amount of ZERO solos. This is why it is being disliked so much as it is.

I don't care if people say it's easy as long as they can prove that they have it easy playing it, just don't claim it being easy when you can't play it yourself

Because thunderstruck is SOOO hard to play with one hand...

If it's not hard, please do show us how you do it
User avatar #124 to #107 - uzzwick (11/26/2012) [-]
He does it with one hand by hitting and then pulling the string with the same finger, making it sound like he's playing fast as hell while it is really easy. Even bad/amateur guitarists like me can do this. And no, I won't record myself playing thunderstruck just to prove a point... (not saying Angus Young isn't a great guitarist. He is awesome.)
#161 to #124 - anon (11/26/2012) [-]
It's extremely hard to play one-handed without muting the other strings. Go ahead and try it while headbanging.
User avatar #241 to #161 - jinjo (11/26/2012) [-]
Headbanging doesn't make fast parts hard, in fact most of the time it's used like tapping your foot for time signature.. if you try headbanging while playing something more rhythemic or slow, you're going to have a lot harder time.

I'd like to start out by saying i love both genre's but I've always felt that rock wasn't much for the "listening" if that's how you put it but more of the feeling. You go to a rock concert to take part in it, not sit back and listen. Rock is about the energy. Jazz is more of easy listening something you go to a concert to really listen to what they may be playing. You can feel in jazz too it's just not as energetic as rock is. Rock being like hard rock or heavy metal. in ******* love with Pink Floyd though

I'm actually Christian lol.. "Heretic~!" I realize. But I disagree with that logic:P good music is good music as long as it doesn't influence you. And I haven't sacrificed a goat in weeks, so it's all good.

LetTheRecordShowThatIHaveNeverSacrificedAnyAnimalAndNeverIntendOnDoingSo.

And yeah, Nightwish is pretty cool:)

True, but as a Christian, while I do not begrudge anyone listening to anything, I still don't need to listen to a song about the antichrist or **** like that.

Yeah, I agree with that though. I typically don't enjoy those songs anyway. But much like Christian artists, maybe a few songs per album are actually DEFINITELY Christian/Satanic in their message.
Either way, I hear ya bro lol

meh, the dark knight series (batman) was interesting, mostly because it showed how a real life batman would have ended up.

In case you haven't read the DK batman series, in it batman is ******* crazy. He shoots people. In the face. For robbing an old lady walking down the road. The cops are after him cause he doesn't hesitate, he doesn't show mercy, he sees criminals and he kills them. The only reason the major badguy's survive is because the cops normally show up while batman has them incapacitated and is about to kill them, so he has to leave cause he isn't going to kill a cop.
