Check the description, it's a mod.

I really do like to surround myself in nature once in a while, and luckily I live near a collection of nature trails. However, upon my first visit, about 15 minutes into the walk, I discovered that the trail was interrupted by a busy highway road, which you had to walk along for a few seconds, past roaring cars 10 feet away, just to continue on your way down the trail.

Ruined the immersion for me.

I've used several different enb's for Skyrim, and while some areas do look stunning, most of the game just looks unnatural in motion - there's way too much dof and bloom and it's usually way over saturated. Most of the mods for the first Crysis look far better in motion.
User avatar #526 - ineedturtles (11/25/2012) [-]
I was expecting a Crysis pic :)
#530 to #526 - doktorandus (11/25/2012) [-]
Crysis is a very beautiful game from a technical standpoint.

But in my opinion, it does not beat the 'natural' beauty of Skyrim.
I say 'natural' because it's obvious that somebody put the trees, grass et cetera at the places they are.
But Crysis just doesn't seem to have the.. equal amount of effort in it's landscape in the time I played it.

Of course, that's completely up to taste but everything about Skyrim just oozes atmosphere. Crysis's landscape is more treated like a setpiece than anything else in my opinion.

God damn it, you people and your Norway.
I get it, it's supercallifragilisticexpialidocious.
User avatar #523 to #517 - breadbasket (11/25/2012) [-]
Most of the people on FJ who say they're from Norway aren't actually from Norway.
User avatar #534 to #523 - thetruearjuna (11/25/2012) [-]
Why would one lie about that oO?
User avatar #572 to #534 - breadbasket (11/27/2012) [-]
Because internet, that's why.

People are stupid, and they believe that by saying they're from Norway, they're going to cooler on the internet.
#573 to #572 - thetruearjuna (11/27/2012) [-]
ahh the Internet to much porn and hate for one man to enjoy alone
#525 to #523 - doktorandus (11/25/2012) [-]
Oh, I know.
It's just funny that near all of them choose Norway as their example of real life beauty.
#509 - Dwarf (11/25/2012) [-]
This is Hyrule. I was born and raised here. This is far more beautiful than any of your video games could possibly be.

May I inquire what game that is?
#506 to #503 - doktorandus (11/25/2012) [-]
Considering you weren't a total ass about inquiring, it's Skyrim on 100 mods.
A link to several other screenshots can be found in the description.

100 mods? Is that one complete mod pack? Sounds exquisite.
User avatar #508 to #506 - darkjustifier (11/25/2012) [-]
100 mods, my computer can barely run 5 and someone's running 100, I must find them and I must turn them into our leader.

Can you run a hundred mods? How much did your pc cost?
#540 to #535 - doktorandus (11/25/2012) [-]
Well, I have had roughly 126 mods in my library, but I don't think all at the same time.

And even then, they weren't all big on graphical overhauls or some such.
More niche little things, like more craft recipes and the like.

I believe my PC cost roughly 600 euros, but it was pre-built and from the Aldi.
If you don't know the Aldi, they're pretty much walmarts of Europe only of a lower grade.
But boy, does my baby do work.

is this what you tell yourself to make yourself feel better
#494 to #492 - doktorandus (11/25/2012) [-]
No, I tell myself other people are dumb to make myself feel better.

But I'm glad you at least try, even if it's the feeblest effort, to understand my train of thought.

ESCAPISM TIME
User avatar #483 - mikaelkid (11/25/2012) [-]
It's actually more beautiful but tasks in a game just aren't as fun in real life.

Example: > Go to store get milk, drive home

In game: That **** is fun, run over a few people on way there, shoot cashier, etc or something lol

IRL: **** , gotta waste gas just to get milk, stand in line at register, traffic.
#482 - GOmagikarp (11/25/2012) [-]
Actually using a preloaded sample picture as a reaction, cool. and Op, there are plenty of places where nature looks that beautifl, just not by your house.
#488 to #482 - doktorandus (11/25/2012) [-]
I'm well aware.
