The NPCs are retard, the level system is fucked to hell, and I get penalized everytime I run somebody over with an ice-cream truck while dressed as a chicken.

I do it because it makes me feel important, and like I'm actually achieving something.
In real life, will I be able to save the human race from genocidal aliens, hellbent on destroying all human life?
Or drive some of the world's fastest cars on the most amazing roads?
Or roam a nuclear wasteland in a post-apocalyptic world?
Or make a difference in society by assassinating the main figures in the forces of evil?
Or train powerful creatures, and roam the world battling other trainers, hoping to become the best in the world?
Nope. But with a console, and a good assortment of games, I can.
