Those are British police.
The building behind them must be important.
It looks fancy.
If it wasn't, why would they be armed?
Im confused.

It possibly is important, of course it is likely that this is just a press shot, what made you think of that?

I live in Britain. Only time I see police heavily armed is outside important buildings or on London public transport. Or they're part of the armed police.

So do I, you do get them armed in other places but pretty rarely. What got you confused?

Most armed police don't carry ******* SMG's.
They carry assault rifles or some ****. I just never saw one holding an SMg
I wasnt aware the police were allowed SMGs

I on the other hand have never seen one armed with anything other than an SMG, the one in the picture appears to be an MP5 but I imagine the police outside of 10 downing street have UMPs in case they need to pierce body armour.
I think British SWAT have assault rifles, I shall look that up when I get the chance.
Oh also you we're almost certainly right about the building being important, further down Downing street the bricks are that colour and shape and i believe the Court of Appeal and the old Bailey have some bricks like that. What do you think it could be?
