how to break the economy from /b/

File: . jpg-( 16 KB, 274x300, square. jpg)
This occurred to me when I saw a commercial forthe Square.
The Square takes a 275% fee forthe amount charged onto the credit card swiped. Some credit cards Cashback. Citi offers it forthe first S months of use an everything,
and Discover gives Wu 5% an all online purchases fora months (not sure ofthis counts as an online purchase).
3.". Say Wu use yam awn credit card an yam awn Square, wouldnt Wu net 225% ofthe transaction? So if Wu rang up same imaginary purchase that came to an yam phone
it ,. t that is equipped with a Square and pay for it with yam Citi card, then Square warld take . 75 and Citi warld give Wu . Afree . 25, in theory. What does /b/ think?

There's nothing illegal, it's just missing that the retailer pays credit card fees.

Well, if you pay for it with the money you use and you end up making some money out of it. Couldn't you make a profit out of that?
User avatar #7 to #6 - danytheop (11/25/2012) [-]
So basically doing this would be ******* suicide for yourself?

Hmm, well something got to be in the TOS about using this **** ... I mean making money like that? If someone here wants to try it, go ahead but I think I'm gonna pass!

Yes, the inability to enlarge the image should be illegal.

1. didnt you still just pay 100 dollars? the 5% "back" is just 5% less that you pay out of that total essentially.

2. isnt the 2.75% added to what you are going to have to pay back? so instead of 5% less total its only 2.25% less.

you would only be able to make a profit if the percent you were getting back was more than 100%. you not only not making money the square just means the rewards part is essentially just reducing the amount you save.

or am i missing something here? im no expert on this stuff.

for a sec i thought i figured it out. i thought it was saying that the 2.25% was going towards the cost since there was no one picking up the 5%.

then i realised even if you are using that Square there is still a retailer on the other end right?
