Looks good, but useless.

Art isn't always useless. But then again, that depends on what you consider art. Art can be beautiful, and/or evoke emotion. But he same is with some literatture, it can be beautiful and evoke emotion. Through the years art has made people do things, think over things, question things. There was art, poster ect to get people to contribute to a cause or a war. Photography, photoshopping can be consider art making, since essentially it's the same things and it's not fugly, scarred, wrinkled, blemished cover models on magazines that get people to buy their products. If you buy a game, some good concept art wouldn't hurt and might in fact get the message arcoss what the games about, making you interested. "Don't judge the book by it's cover", but a cover that suits your interests would probably tempt you more. Most beautiful things around you, someone has sat and thought through how it would look like.
Also, modern art. I know it doesn't loook impressive. Like the white background with black dot on top and then we call it art blah blah blah. I can fully understand that, and that today it doesn't make much sence to do that art anymore. That is because today it doesn't hold the same value (therefor I agree, people should let it go), but at the time it came out, it was revolutionary. Art has developed, and what happen under the some of the modern art era was that they (marcel Duchamp for exampel), started questioning the definition of art, because there was none. A straight red line on a white backround was critized of some critics, but what they had done was teh essenrials of art. the basic colours and horisental, vertical lines. You can't say art is useless without giving your definition of it. A boy who recreates the titanic made of millions of toothpicks can be art. But then there's always those that consider something of someone famous art. Picassos autograph ≠ Art. But that's the case with most famouse people today, they can do fuck all.

Modern Art is dogshit on a canvas. I agree, Duchamp made a prime example of modern art by literally presenting a urinal as a piece of art, and calling it "modern art". That being said, I can't see how any art major could argue their importance in some kind of apocalyptic scenario...

OH no you're totally right one that, I agree. An art major is useless in a scenario like that, like many things. Just meant art in general.
Getting a bit tired of people going out of their way to make other people feel useless. Try being innovative and creative all the time like, it's not so simple.
