Protip: I spent years looking for the ultimate pencil/eraser combo because I have no life. These fuckin things are great. Look for the Pentel Twist-Erase Click (I use the Pentel PD277, which is .7 mm). It uses these erasers (work great, last forever), cap comes off easily but not too easily, and it has a smooth click. The lead barrel's not huge but it's big enough; you don't need a million sticks of lead anyways. I'll never use another pencil.

I hated that especially on scantrons when they would say,"Erase your mark as clearly as possible so the scantron won't pick it up! They're VERY sensitive!" And I get one of those pencils with those erasers.

Pink erasers usually don't work because either they're wet or they're oxidized. You can prevent this from happening to you by checking an eraser on a blank piece of paper before you try to erase anything. The less of a mark your eraser leaves on a blank paper, the better it is!
