Black Friday is a day in America*, like the dude said, where certain items and merchandise go on ridiculous sales. This happens at every major chain store. The reason is because these companies take advantage of the first "Official" day of holiday shopping by giving the shopper bargains, it's another way for our companies in the states to make more money. Not by dropping prices so drastically (i.e. a 250G Xbox 360 + 5 Top Selling Games for $150) but so that shoppers will buy in bulk. I work at Gamestop, in a mall. We literally had a tidal wave of people storm through at Midnight, when we opened. Some people sprinted so they could get their hands on our sales. We had sales like the 360, a 320G PS3 + Black Ops II, Borderlands II and Dishonored for 199. 19-fucking-9! (I bought one.) And yes, only in North America. Not sure about Canada.
