Interest doesn't spontaniously pop up inside your mind. There is a base for it.

That is the exact definition of interest. Because you wonder about something, you get interested, and then you ask. That was a bad argument. Why does one want to know physics? Interest. There is no explaining it, you just find that it is interesting.
