It's a fandom mainly composed of obnoxious, self-righteous, quick-to-anger dimwits that is centered around the sexual objectification of animals.

Furries are the nicest people I've ever had the joy of meeting, so I joined. There are obnoxious people everywhere, as are self-righteous and quick-to-anger people.
That last part is mainly due to the popularity of HardBlush, a (growing) group of artists that pump out porn like madmen.
