I'm sorry, I know I'm probably going to get red thumbs for this, but screw it; I call bullshit. People rarely join the army due to the fact that they want to "protect their country" or uphold the ideals of their country, nine times out of ten they join armed forces due to economic disparity and lack of opportunities among people in their socio-economic climate. They do it because they can't find jobs, because they couldn't get adequate qualifications due to failures in the education system, or they do it because they have no other means of affording higher education, and can't afford to be saddled with student debt when they finish.

The system is rigged to exploit the desperate, not accommodate the patriotic.

I guess it depends on you, I think that we find our own heroes, as opposed to someone being a hero to everyone.

Like your mom can be your hero, but shes just an average schmuck to everybody else. To me, those two are people who signed up for an occupation that puts them in more danger then most other jobs. They're just two men, doing their jobs.
