Actually, Lupinus, Lupine or Lupin is a genus of plant. You're thinking of Lupus. Like Canis Lupus.

read downward it says "lupin is a latin word for Wolf"
actually one of the flowers in that genus is called Wolfsbane

and you can also link the name remus to the myth of remus and romulus. They were raised by a wolf.
