Every Wednesday I go to my local hospital and play music on my sax for 30-40 minutes in the lobby. I'd like to play more, but college work, you know? Sure, it's not much, but it makes so many people happy. This one time, an older lady in a wheelchair complimented me and offered me $20, and I declined. I told her I was playing Over the Rainbow next, and she lit up and asked if she could sing it while I played. I started to play, and she started singing, and kept singing until a nurse took her somewhere else. The feels I had that day...

I have a friend who is... financially less able than my family. He's 17 and the oldest of four siblings with a single dad who has to work two jobs to barely able to sustain the family, and then, this friend usually has to use whatever meager amount of money he makes (he doesn't have a job, so it's veerrrry little) to help buy dinner for his family.

On top of all of that, most of his family is ungrateful and takes the fact that they can eat for granted, in fact, he once came over to my house asking for some food because he wasn't able to eat because he let his family have his portion.

A while back, I gave him my last $120 to buy his family food for the week and to purchase a replacement social security card (or something of that nature) so he could get a birth certificate or something (my mind's a little fuzzy), so he could get an actual job at a Whataburger.
