In the comic books they have had Thor fight off against Hulk and although it seems evenly matched at the begining...Thor kicks his ass in the end.

But we all know Hulk would beat is shit in a longer time period.

The fight was a long one it lasted days and that's why Thor won, cause Hulk could only get so angry.

in the comics, when he was banished to earthen he was made fully human and forgot about his godhood. He found his hammer in a cave in norway while fleeing from an alien scouting party, and when struck upon a rock it allowed him to use his powers.

Demigod means that he is a half-god, i.e. born from a god and a human mother (like Perseus). By your definition, all the gods of Greek, Roman and Northern mythology would be "demigods", because none of them are omnipotent.

You can reasonably take the description of demigod if you have power far beyond that of a normal mortal and it isn't commonly available. After all in absence of the gods omnipotent gods (and the Greek gods weren't really omnipotent so much as super-potent) who is to say what being touched by the power of a 'god' really means.
