Yep. Ontario.
Other provinces had them banned, but some lifted those laws. I'm not sure if some still ban them or not, but I know it for Ontario.

I just looked it up to make sure, and I found these laws:
-it turns out you can own just one if it was owned before the ban, August 29, 2005 or born within 90 days after the ban, you can adopt one in Ontario if this applies to it
-You can adopt as many pitbulls as the number you owned when the ban was passed
-it has to be fixed, and in public it has to be leashed and muzzled
-they are destroyed if they bite, attack, or pose a menace
-you can't bring one into Ontario, even for a short visit, there seems to be an exception for dog shows, but you need some sort of permit for that
-If you leave Ontario with a pitbull, you can't bring it back after 3 months.
This applies to dogs similar to pitbulls as well.

I remember once by my school maybe grade 6, we were out for recess and heard shots. Turns out this guy down the road from the school was being arrested, can't remember what for. He had two pitbulls, and the cops just shot them because they were pitbulls, and 'pitbulls are aggressive'. Didn't even get in trouble for it.

Quite odd because i live in ontario and people around here own pitbulls like normal.
and only one of them is kind of mean. Tore apart a rabbit. But every other pitbull i know of is perfectly fine.

They probably fit the laws then.
Or they just haven't been complained about, so the authorities have just never had to get involved.

Everything's nicer in Canada.
Even "deadly" animals.
