Amendment 2 was written over 200 years ago when handheld firearms were basically miniature cannons. The founding fathers were not gods, despite what many americans might try and tell you, and so they couldn't see 200 years into the future. would they really have made amendment 2 the way it is if they had foreseen assault rifles, automatic pistols and submachine guns? and yet americans persist in acting like the constitution and bill of rights were written by the hand of god.

While I think that more should be done to reduce crime, I don't think that guns should be legal. I find it astounding how happy someone would be to end someone else's life.

The government allows us to own guns so we can pretend like they aren't the bosses of us, that they work for us, and that we can kick them out anytime we want. A lot of you talk about how you are disciplined and know all about gun safety and yet, the moment anyone talks about taking those guns away from you, you instantly start talking revolution and shooting anyone who wants to take them away.

Remembering that it is as easy for the rapist to get a gun as it is for your daughter and if he sees her pulling out a gun(that she probably isn't an expert with) he would kill her.
I guess its your opinion whether its better to have a raped daughter with the possibility of aids or a dead daughter. Also there are non-lethal alternatives (tasers/pepper-spray)

Okay so pistols, and small caliber rifles are cool. Granted. But why the fuck does anyone need AK47's with armor-piercing exploding ammunition? Answer: no-one. The only reason people would need to buy a gun is for self-protection from intruders and for sport. Small caliber rifles and pistols due the job just fine.
