That didn't happen. Operation Barbarossa was launched 22. of June 1941, which was during summer. Even though they stayed fighting during winter, they didn't expect the Russians to fight back as hard as they did, and believed to be home by Christmas same year.

But still--any 1940's world leader worth his salt would know two things:
1) The Soviets were insane...ly tough.
2) If your invasion of Russia lasts until the winter, you will lose.

Instead, he made the rules so that every decision became beurocratic and essentially ended up on Hitler's desk, which ruined the efficiancy infinitely.

1) WW2 also evolved into a two front war for the Germans (USSR on the East, America, Britain and what was left of the French resistance on the west)

2) German soldiers were better than entente soldiers in WW1 anyways. So was their gear. For one, look at the quality of trenches of Germans dug vs the entente trenches.

Probably the best trained, but not best equipped. German tanks were shit, believe it or not. Their tank tech was outdated by like 20 years when they invaded Poland. They were using Kar98s when the US was mass producing Garands. The Soviets had better tanks, except they were driven by potatoes that couldn't hit an elephant within 3 yards range. Read it up, the Germans made the Panther tank so they could penetrate the T-34. But seriously, I don't think there was anything that the allies didn't have that the Germans had.

T-34's were so solidly built, they would just ram into tiger tanks instead of shooting them. Russians man.

They did exceptionally well with what they had, you must know that they were forbidden from mass producing and designing new weapons, tanks, aircraft...for a long time. So most stuff had to be done in secrecy and by few men. But yeah panzer 2 and 3 were not that great, but since anti tank weaponry was not advanced that much in the beggining of the war, panzers didn't really had any big problems with what they were fighting at given time (they did got pretty fucked by t34s though)

Also yes, allies did pretty much had everything axis had, But then again, it was war and both sides were copying from each other. Panzerschreck was made after american bazooka, and many firearms took the design of stg44 (though i think most were made after the war)

Their entire Armory was better than ours. The Gewehr (FG 42, MG42, STG-44, G43) were some of the best rifles ever made. The MP40 packed a harder punch than the M1A1 Thompson and the Bren. Also, the Mauser 98 was stronger than the Enfield bolt action and the Springfield.

Outnumber is a huge factor. But the fronts thing is true, but allies didn't have a better military force. Germany lost in the East because of Soviets and their huge numbers allowing them to get far in to making their long supply lines more vulnerable which worked. Allies did the same, they pratically attacked by a shit ton of areas and fooled the Axis of thinking they were going to attack primary from the Mediterranean north and destroyed a lot of their infrasacture too.

Winston Churchill offered the French dual citizenship with the UK, effectively opening UK borders to the French people, and offered the French PM the support of essentially the entire Allied army at the time.

The French PM agreed to this.


The French PM then went off and surrendered anyway.

Don't even get me started on the French construction firms still trading today who pocketed money to build the concrete fortifications for the German army inside France.

Actually France had far superior tanks than Germany at the time. However there were three major flaws with french tanks

1.lack of radio
2.lack of firepower (but then again the Char B2 made up for that with it's 75mm howitzer)
3.lack of tactical knowledge (they used tanks as infantry support instead of fighting tanks)

So no, the French could of stopped the German war machine even before it over ran France.

Furthermore, the French wanted to fight a static war like in WW 1 so they wanted to halt the Germans from taking their original attack route. French positions were entrenched in the maginot line and the same area that the Germans attack from in world war 1

The Nazi high command had initially wanted to do use the same path as in WW 2 but when their plans got discovered in a plane crash that occured in France (not sure of precise location). This caused the Germans to use the Ardennes to attack, and the French, now strongly believeing that Germany would use the same offensive tactic, moved into Holland and Belguim(not near the Ardennes obviously) to stop the Germans faster.

The result was when Germany attacked, the French were caught off guard and were completely out flanked

superior tanks than Germany?? really where do you get that from? I have always been taught that french generals were WWI veterans . They thought it would be a similar war than the 14-18 one and did not believe tanks would be useful.

look up the Char B1, Somua S-35, Hotchkiss H35, Char D2. These tanks were superior to German tanks at the time. If they would of been coordinated with radios + if French forces were not flanked, WW 2 could of ended earlier.

But back it up a few years, Germany has pretty much no military. When they started expanding the military and being aggressive, France and Britain did nothing to stop them, and tried to appease them as much as possible because they didn't want another war on their hands. If they had clamped down on them the moment Germany started breaking the Versailles treaty, the terrible war could have been a much shorter one.

Well they didn't know that the Nazi's were going to become aggressive, and they hoped dearly it wouldn't come to that. And by the time they started becoming aggressive they kinda already had the army and it was a little too late stop them with military.

Well, it was kinda suspicious that Nazis started to expand their military, and I just can't believe they didn't knew about it. What about allied spies in Germany? None of them warned their HQ? The main reason because England or France didn't press Germany to stop it's the one semisane told, fear of another great war (sigh)

I mean, they could had passed about pressuring Germany, but they had also the chance to rearmy themselves. France was in control of Alsacy too, a heavily industrialized region which was german before WW1..

Wrong and ultra wrong. France had a military power excellent for the time. They had heavy fortifications, modern tanks far superior to thos of the nazis, an excellent air force and the english expeditionary force to support them.

They only managed to hold the Italians back on the Italian border, THEY were very ill-equiped to fight a war, as they had NO decent tanks, NO decent aircrafts and please don't get me started on their navy which lacked completely of air-carriers.

Hitler didn't want any more countries apart of Germany besides the territory which Germany previously had in past leaderships which were taken from them in after WW1. If he would have won he would probably just installed allied fascist governments who were with him. The Soviets manage to handle a massive areas by doing this after WW2.

You're half right. Hitler wanted more than what the Germans previously had. He wanted unify Germanic areas and conquer more for Lebensraum or "living space". The idea was to get enough room for Germans to prosper, including as far as the Steppes of Russia (i.e. past Moscow) and essentially keep the Slavs and Russians past the steppes and use them as slave labor when needed. He didn't want the whole word as many people wrongly think, he just wanted a fascist world just as the US and Britain wanted a democratic world and the Soviets wanted a communist world.

Britain couldn't do a whole lot. They were under constant bombardment by the Luftwaffe. Just keeping the Germans out of Great Britain is quite a feat on it's own. Also, remember that on the 6. June 1944, also known as D-day, the British army captured Sword Beach, a neighboring beach to Omaha Beach. They also put up a great fight, and won, against the Luftwaffe.
The British tried to capture land in mainland-Europe several times before the USAs army even arrived.
Furthermore, the rest of the British Empire, places such as Northern Africa, fought the Germans ever since the Germans decided to invade them.
