If you wonder why I am comparing with Finland and not any other country it is because:
1) I'm Norwegian and we, along with rest of Scandinavia love to point out how silly Finish is compared to rest of the Scandinavian languages which are quite similar, including Iceland.
2) Finland is a part of the Nordic countries and all the Nordic countries except Finland use the Germanic language, except Finland.

We Finns may talk funny, but have you ever heard an ESTONIAN?
They're like Finns w/ downs.
#28 to #27 - nightemu (11/17/2012) [-]
That is because Estonians are Finns with Down's.

Is this what FunnyJunk is reduced to? Calling another country retarded because they have a different word for something?

In finnish "Ja" means "and"
So in our eyes you are the retard ones.

These posts are just retarded. All of those languages are of Germanic origin, but Finish, which is Uralic. That is why it differs from the other ones. When are you retards going to learn this?

Kyllä would be "yes"...
User avatar #141 - tonkkax (11/17/2012) [-]
Finland also has "Joo" for "yes" which is pronounced almost exactly like Ja in Swedish.

What I think is weird is that Finnish is close to Hungarian, and they sound nothing alike.
User avatar #61 - thepastryistrue (11/17/2012) [+] (2 replies)
That's pretty weird, because words with very basal meanings and frequent usage are usually the shortest. "Kyllä" is not really short...
#100 to #61 - vilmasd (11/17/2012) [-]
We also have a shorter word for "kyllä", you can say "joo".
