Is there a specific spotlight that Phreak says this in? I've heard this joke so many times, i was wondering its origins.

a Carry is a player in any MOBA style game (such as DoTA or LoL) who is a very powerful character when they have a decent number of kills.

As for the AD part. The game consists of different damage types within Characters; [Physical] Attack Damage characters (AD) and [Magic] Ability Power (AP). So an AD carry is basically a Powerful Physical attack based Character who's power is relative to its Kills/items.

So he is basically making a spin-off of Jim Carey to 'AD Jim Carry' as a Pun intended for MOBA fans.

Turns out it is, I didn't see that they changed the spelling of the name to be Carry, he just added AD but yes you are right it is in the content and I was oblivious :/
