Well the glass is also matter in itself so if you put it that way, is the glass really there at all? Is the world half full should be the question? Why do cats always land feet first? Why do we exist? What is the meaning of life? How is it we haven't discovered intelligent life elsewhere yet? Are there other things in the universe? Are we alone in the universe? What would be more terrifying? Are there other universes?

I think if the glass is being filled, it is half full. If it is being emptied, it is half empty.

Half full, half empty, all spectacularly amazing in every way.
