can someone please explain to me? i dont really get it. i mean i know the dad raped her but why did the bunny go out the window or why was the mom and daughter depressed?

the bunny isn't alive, the mom is depressed because she knows what's going on, and the daughter is depressed for the same reason. the little girl is tossing the bunny out the window because she is so depressed / can't picture a bunny wanting to play with her.

The mom is depressed because she's living with that terror of a kid.
That kid is an absolute terror because her dad rapes her.
The bunny went out the window because it showed up to deal with "regular" sad kid stuff. There are thousands of stories out there about kids managing to get their parents to love them, and take some time off work for the family. How many stories involve a stuffed animal that comes to life and helps a girl deal with her father constantly raping her?
So it went out the window. It didn't have the answer. It couldn't make her smile. He had no clue what to do, so he bailed.
