this mostly applies to someone who is a newb regarding parrots, if you know what you're doing you'll have fewer problems, the bird in this post however is a cockateil and they are notorious for acting like a pheasant (they will try to fly if spooked), never expect a new bird to do as you ask at first, unless you're me, training a parrot is going to be very hard, if you can train a cockateil to do your bidding than a bigger smarter parrot will be less of a problem, just remember that parrots will bite if you don't listen to them, the first thing a new bird owner should do if not already done is clip the wings so the bird is easier to controll and beware, if that cockateil bites you it may latch on and chew like a rat if it's scared of you and that **** really hurts.
