Legolas isn't that heavy is he!? He walks on snow and falls in slowmotion.
Or is it because of all that ..elvemagic-thingy..

All elves in LOTR are able to walk on top of snow. It is not affected by the temperature of the snow either.

Legolas would be good against multiple enemies, like orcs and **** , but in reality, would have trouble against something overpowered, like Sauron.

Hawkeye may get overwhelmed easily, due to the fact that he's not an elf and lacks those reflexes. However, if given a complex task, like taking down a VERY powerful enemy, he would do quite well, as he is very versatile with all his equipment options.

TL;DR, your mother is an excellent chef.

would you not consider a mumakil to be a powerful enemy?
User avatar #54 to #18 - eonsmashface (11/16/2012) [-]
if anyone here has played The Third Age. Yes. the Mumakil are powerful. even without the little ******* volleying every turn. and then you finally hit level 100 with berethor. and you know all his melee skills. and you gondorian rampage the hell out of the ******* with a 1st age longsword of the valar. and eaoden comes out of nowhere with a 6 hit spear combo.
and the and then Elegost (dunedain) uses ******* storm arrow.
**** THE MUMAKIL.

Tl:dr it still only counts as one!
User avatar #48 to #14 - saddestofbreads (11/16/2012) [-]
Because Legolas didn't take down a mumak by himself or anything.

_"He was as tall as a young tree, lithe, immensely strong, able swiftly to draw a great war-bow and shoot down a Nazgûl, endowed with the tremendous vitality of Elvish bodies, so hard and resistant to hurt that he went only in light shoes over rock or through snow, the most tireless of all the Fellowship."
_

Nazgul.. Pretty powerful

Legolas: One.

Legolas would weigh much less than 82 kilos. In the movies, not sure about the books, he is walking on deep snow while everyone must walk through it.
User avatar #112 to #44 - ninian (11/16/2012) [-]
Elven kind are not affected by snow.

hawkeye has;
modern military training
a newer, more advanced weapon
multiple arrow types
possibly armor

legolas has an army of fanboys to thumb me down.
User avatar #67 to #21 - paranoidmuffin (11/16/2012) [-]
plus if we're taking about Hawkeye from the comics, legolas would get curb stomped.

Legolas also has better close combat skills.
User avatar #46 to #21 - blashyrkh (11/16/2012) [-]
Legolas has
Elven abilities, which are far superior to human abilities in terms of perception, reaction time, precision, speed, etc.
The ability to shoot multiple arrows at once.
Possibly thousands of years of experience.
Elven armor.
User avatar #26 to #21 - dingojohn (11/16/2012) [-]
Legolas is an Elf.

A race physically and mentally far superior to man. his eyesight, aim, speed and agility out-matches hawk-eye's by leagues.

never start a fight without an unfair advantage.
User avatar #53 to #36 - alcantara (11/16/2012) [-]
The question is presented as such; who would win in a duel? Duels are regulated; yes, you fight to the death, and naturally you would act in a disgraceful manner to assure victory - but in a duel, acting in a disgraceful manner will do nothing but assure your death, as the referee/judge wouldn't hesitate in taking your life.

In the absence of the referee/judge doing it, the state certainly would. Where duelling to the death was legal, breaking the agreed rules of that duel carried the penalty of death. I see no reason to assume that we wouldn't uphold such should such duels be allowed again in modern times.

Are we talking movie Hawkeye or comic book Hawkeye? Legolas would probably beat the movie version but I would put money on the comic book Hawkeye to win.

In the comics, Hawkeye has fought grossly more powerful beings then Legolas and has come out on top.

They're both much taller than 5'1 and 5'2 and Legolas would be lighter than that. What person that clearly knows nothing about LOTR (or elves in general) made this?
