In science: Light is white, and white is the combination of all colors in the visible spectrum. They are Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo and Violet (ROYGBIV). Black is the absence of these colors - When you cannot see light, you perceive black.
In Art: White and Black are shades, White is (generally) the absence of all colors, where black is the combination of all colors. This isn't entirely accurate, but it gets the point across.

If you pay attention to the light spectrum, white light is made up of all the colors in the rainbow. So if you're jealous of people being one color, think again. Cause we white people are ALL the colors.
