Zubat is actually a really good Pokemon to have on your team and train.

If you haven't had a Zubat and evolved it into a Crobat, you don't know. It's good once it's trained. Same with Geodude who people immediately shoot down.

Shuckle? The pokemon with the highest defense in the game? Yeah, definitely better than zubat.

Makes sense. It's a shit Pokemon. Just because it has good defense doesn't mean it has good offense. You need a balance.

No. He's a tank. he serves his purpose. Put him out there, and you can heal every pokemon you have, take him out, and he'll still have 75% of his health.

I think that he's a waste of space on a team of only 6. He can't do damage so when you're screwed and are only left with one, you can't rely on him. He's just used as a substitute to heal the rest of your team which is a bit of a waste.

I used him throughout my game, and it was really helpful whenever I was going against a Gym who were way higher level than me. Every 2-3 turns I could put shuckle in there and heal up. You still have 5 other pokemon and It pretty much assures that aslong as you play it smart you won't lose.

Well, to each his own, right? You can use him in that way, but I just prefer to use all of my 6 slots as Pokemon with good offense. But that is a strategy as well

bidoof can be used as an hm slave.
wurmple can evolve into cascoon/silcoon and then beautifly/dustox
Also volbeat can be quite good when trained

Using it as an HM slave is a shitty reason.
Dustox/Beautifly are honestly both quite horrible Pokemon that I wouldn't add to my team. Dustox with having Special Defense as its only high point being terribly slow and doing little damage. Then Beautifly with terrible weaknesses despite the Special Attack.
I also think that Volbeat is a horrible Pokemon all around.
Anyways, if I were to add a bug to my team, it wouldn't be any of those. It'd be Heracross, Scizor, Venemoth, etc.
