That's real philosophical 'n' 			****		, Terry, but dark don't travel. Dark is just the absence of light, light being the tiny visible range of the electromagnetic spectrum to which our eyes are attuned. Much the same as cold does not flow, darkness does not move.    
   
On a quantum scale, light is composed of photons. There is no quantum of darkness. Darkness doesn't travel and thus has no speed. Another way to think of it is that darkness is a property of space that is diminished by the presence of EM radiation.

That's fine and all, but this is light on a flat planet sitting on the backs of four elephants that stand on the shell of a giant turtle flying through space. There's a strong chance science does not apply in such a location.
