How is it punishing success to make a man who pays as little as 12% (the second year of taxes he released, if he had claimed all his donations could have paid 12, or even 11%), pay at the same rate as a teacher?
How is it punishing success to make millionaires who can take advantage of tax havens and loopholes in the law to pay less than a secretary (ie, Warren Buffet's letter to Ronald Regan, begging to come and show Congress how he could do that so they could fix the law), to make these men pay their fair share? Their businesses/investments couldn't succeed with out roads, telephones, internet, all things started/maintained BY THE GOVERNMENT.
But no, you're right, its fair for someone who makes thousands of dollars a day to pay less in taxes than someone who makes less than 60K a year.
