I used to beat pokemon games with fire
if fire didn't kill it, go level up and use more fire!

A rock move would be double super-effective, making it much easier to defeat six charizards.

"The Pokémon nitpicker in me considered having a Rock-type move instead of Bubblebeam (4x damage to Charizard’s Fire/Flying self), but 1) Rock doesn’t seem as immediately debilitating as Water > Fire, and 2) I couldn’t think of any Rock moves that were funnier sounding than “Bubblebeam.”"

Doesn't matter how badass your pokemon is, if they are all the same with the same easily exploited weakness, you're gonna have a bad time.

tiddycats (11/09/2012) [-] When I first started pokemon when I was 8 I only ever used one pokemon-an ultra leveled Typhlosion, every other one in my team were like lvl 10's that I would sacrifice to use revives if my one god-level pokemon ever fainted, It worked way better than it should have.

I have always chosen the Fire Starter. I have burnt my way through each and every generation. Currently, my Emboar knows Burn Blast (needs recharge) Head Smash (huge recoil) Hammer Arm (lowers own speed) and Scald. If sheer firepower doesn't cut it, then a surprising attack should help.
