Not really my thing but I see how many people actually like it for proper reasons and can name more than just Skrillex. Personally, I'm not really fussed about a person's music taste as long as they don't start shouting in my face that mine is bad and theirs is better. Ah well. At any rate. I will admit, I have heard dubstep that I have enjoyed and I have heard some that I haven't enjoyed. I guess it's all just a matter of perspective and personal taste.

If you like it a bit, check out MonsterCatMedia on Youtube. They just collect great songs from genres ranging from techno to dubstep. They each have their own playlist, so you can listen to JUST your fave genre. If it weren't for them, I wouldn't like dubstep at all.

According to UrbanDictionary, you are correct. Hell, I just figured they would have labeled their **** correctly. No wonder I liked their "dubstep", it isn't even dubstep.

Now that I am trying to find the dubstep I've heard before, I can't. Maybe it was brutal dubstep or something, but I can't stand how people like the constant harsh grinding of the wub wub wub, and no other sounds. JUST the wub ****.

Could you give me like 5 of your fave dubstep songs?

Unpopular opinion time;
As a long time metal head and classic rock fan for nearly 9 years, i ******* love electronic music, including dubstep, but particularly Trance, Progressive House, and Electro House. The robotic synthesizers used in dubstepand atmospheric leads are spell binding, like an orchestrated symphony of electronica, i don't understand why people have such an issue with it.

What's garbage is the unoriginal mainstreamers like Rihanna, David Guetta, Nicki Minaj, all hopping on the band wagon and making ******, watered down house music since it's trendy.

tl;dr Electronic music can be awesome, its just the mainstream **** that sucks

People have an issue with it because it's noise. That's literally all dubstep and the like are meant to be - the entire point of them is to defy musical tradition, and while that's fine in its own right as art, one should not confuse it with actual music.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=3l_hy33-1Yw explains it pretty well. Dubstep's . . . uniqueness(?) is derived from it rejecting and ignoring traditional musical sound. Most people, myself included, prefer listening to traditional musical sound, so it shouldn't come as any surprise why so many people take issue with it.

Plus, most people who aren't entrenched in the electronic/dubstep scene only know about the mainstream as examples or work from their respective genres. The mainstream of most anything is crap, so again it's no surprise that most people have low opinions of dubstep et al.

Well what truly annoys me is people like you speaking from a paerspective where they think they know about a genre. The popular miconception of dubstep is the Skrillex-esque 'noise' that you seem to push forward.

What you consider 'traditional' was untraditional at some point. I take it you know of the hate let's say Beatles got from the older generation back then?

That has got to be the most narrow minded approach to electronic music i have ever heard.
Do you have any idea how much musicality Trance music takes from Classical, Opera, Gospel, and Choir?
and the point of dubstep is to utilize voltage charges in low frequency sound waves to manipulate mathematically calculated rhythms in electronic instrumentation. I have absolutely no idea where this theory of "Noise" i've heard so many times is coming from, unless people are just incapable of picking up on the rhythms these oscillations are making

I didn't mean this kind of electronic music, as electro and house have most of the time very simple structures in melody and basslines, FL Studio should be good enough to bring a good result, but you won't be able to make high quality progressive trance.

Fruity Loops is good for making drum sequences and stuff, but I think many producer prefer Cubase

I don't know what it sounds like yet since the guys (RealTalk) haven't posted the song yet but they posted this to get people excited about it

they make their own sounds though and it takes artistic skill and creativity to create a great song when piecing these sounds together

anyway I created art by piecing together crap I found and stuff I had stolen, I ended up making one of my favourite pieces so that doesn't work
