Considering not only will that be easily be tracked as another reply said but you can also get severely brutalized for making fraudulent copies if they decide to make an example out of you. You know that FBI warning you see... the amount they state is what they go after you PER video.

The only problem with that is they can track who did it, since you have to use a debit/credit card to rent it.

cant track it easily, if they asked you "did you copy this" and you said no, "it was like it when i got it, i just returned it and tried calling redbox but they didnt pick up, i returned it and said fuck it." they cant prove you stole the disc from that.

Well, now they do. My cousin did it a long time ago and never got caught. My guess is that so many people did the same thing that Redbox finally found out and they are now aware of the issue. Business security is booming! Isn't it?
