No George Don't Do It

I have no problem with any of them. The new three get a lot of hate but when it gets right down to it the old three aren't that much better. in fact I would argue that Revenge of the Sith is one of the best ones personally. As for disney, Meh they generally make good movies for the most part.

if you look at it this way to disney is control of marvel and made the avengers which was amazingly awesome so they could probably make one hell of a star wars movie

I have no qualms about Disney nor do I care about the Star Wars series that much. I have seen them all though and I can tell you that there is a valid point behind the prequel trilogy hate.
Fans of the original trilogy... let me say that again... FANS OF THE ORIGINAL TRILOGY really looked forward to the prequel trilogy because they were promised the downfall of a great man, Anakin Skywalker. Let me say that again.. the fall of a GREAT MAN.
Since you've seen them as well, can you honestly say that that wasn't a total let down in terms of the story? Movie wise, I can agree with you, Revenge of the Sith was my favourite because of the cinematics. But we're not talking about the movies individually. Everyone talks about the trilogies.
What the fans got in the prequel trilogy was a post pubescent boy who gave the finger to all his mentors and acted like a hot head most of the time and complained when things went wrong because of his own actions. From a story point of view that was really disappointing because Darth Vader is the coolest anti-hero and he wasn't given the story he deserved.
Individually, they were all good movies but its sad to see, not a magnanimous and awe-inspiring Jedi but a little punk turn into Darth Vader.

I agree with frotw on this one. Lucas made the first 6, and we will remember them as amazing movies (some better than others), but now Disney picked up where Lucas left off and gave the series potential. We're still going to appreciate Lucas for making the 1st 6, so there's really no harm in Disney taking over the futre of the franchise.

I agree. In the early days he planned on making all nine but he quickly realized how involved of a process that would be (he was a micromanager back then). Making the first three literally almost killed him via stress induced heart problems. I'm actually proud of him for finally letting go and passing the torch.

As for Disney they seem to understand how culturally important Star Wars is and they have no intentions of turning it into some kiddy movie fail. They have even acknowledged that episodes 1-3 weren't as well received as 4-6 and they are taking that lesson into the future.

Why the fuck would you want $4 billion. It's completely impossible to spend even a fraction of that sum. I'd take 20 mil from it, live like a king and give the rest to charity.

Yeah, but in this case they offered him 4 Billion. My post wasn't about what I'd do with that kind of money or even if i wanted so much. It was about the offer George got for the franchise. And i agree with you, many people would have taken the offer, even if less money was involved.

No I haven't forgotten. The movie was decent. It had great action and effects, but the story line was weak and couldn't have used better character development to get us to feel for the characters a bit more and maybe even feel closer to the villains as well. I like that in a movie.

That was partially the reason each of them had a movie leading up to this movie.

Yes, I saw all of them, and as a whole they were ok. Nothing really special or necessarily memorable.

i just can't imagine storm troopers running around with the Disney logo instead of the Imperial symbol. That and i keep seeing them drawn up in Disney cartoon fashion, not saying it isn't an amusing thought, just that it doesn't belong.

Disney did a fairly good job with the Avengers and Tron, and there's also Iron Man 3 coming out, they were pretty amazing movies, so there is a high chance of Episode 7 being amazing.

I'm just very distraught about it. It's Star Wars, I was promised that there will be no more movies and that they'll only continue the cartoon on CN. But this? I just really hope they do great on it. But I'm still a bit iffy. That's just me though. And the ride thing..what ride did they turn into 4 different movies?

The pirates of the Caribbean is the ride they turned into movies but I was informed that there were books before it was a ride. I grew up with the original 3 star wars I was 18 when the first prequel came out and it wasn't till I was 22 when I realized the movie sucked now the next 2 weren't prefect but they weren't terrible. I always wanted to see new star wars films that shows whats been going on since Jedi. I'm glad Lucas doesn't own it anymore I found out the other day that the battle of Endor between the storm troopers and ewoks was suppose to be storm troopers and wookies but George wanted to market the film to kids and families more so he invented ewoks.

I was born in 1995. So my opinion on the prequels isnt as great as others who were older when they saw the movies. But I did see the original trilogy before the prequels due to my dad wanting me to see it how he saw it. He's a Star Wars fan too.

Kingdom Hearts will make this shit happen.

the prequel trilogy was boring in comparison to the original. Who CARES if Anakin was a pod-racer? Who cares about Boba Fett's childhood? Darth Maul was also pretty insignificant in the grand scheme of things, and qui gon jin dies like a total bitch. Also, Jar Jar, who the fuck thought that was a good idea?

jar jar was created for comic relief, just like the ewoks. after all, it is meant for children. and things like pod racing are leading up to things like anakin being a great pilot and luke following in his footsteps. i know they're not AMAZING, but they're still pretty cool movies

I don't want to slit my wrists for watching them, but I wouldn't say that they're good movies, not by a long shot. Everything about it just doesn't feel right.

Also, I forgot to mention that Yoda looks weird when he fights.
