I miss three things from BL1, the original Sledge Shotgun (the new one is kind of shit compared to it) and being able to play as Mordecai (dude was my favourite character) and pistols/revolvers being two separate groups of weapons, but other then that I have to say BL2 is a massive improvement.

I don't see a reason why, Borderlands 2 improved upon Borderlands 1 in pretty much everything.

i couldnt really get into borderlands 1's story. So the whole experience seemed empty

At least in Borderlands 2 people will explain the missions more and you don't just go "Oh sweet a mission. Okay I have to find beer for some reason."
