I always kind of thought as peavey as that amp you see 10 year old beginners with and that amp you see dust covered sitting in the corner, but when i found out about this amp, I was pretty amazed, I love it. The transtube stuff makes it sound just like a tube amp, and it gets pretty loud

She worked just fine, named her Victoria after this girl i had a crush on for 3 years, (woe is me) she (my guitar) died about two years ago. :( She would've been 7 years old this april :(

I already have a 15 watt Peavey amp, about 12 or 14 inches. I wanted something louder, but not like a cabinet or anything.
Sam Ash was having a "get $45 off anything over $250" and I was going to get a new amp for X-mas anyway. I was looking at a fairly large used Fender solid state amp in store. I couldn't tell you the model or dimensions cause it's used and not on the website.
I just want recommendations. Of something louder. Alot louder.

You would have to find an expert in this, i'm defintely not an expert in amps, i have more acoustics than i do electrics for this reason xp

Nonetheless i do understand what you're talking about, what kind of sound do you tend to look for? Or are you just trying to blow someone's head off like Jack Black?

I play alot of prog, punk, alternative, classical acoustic and pop acoustic. The biggest bands i play are Porcupine Tree, Tool, Foo Fighters, Rise Against, Incubus, etc.

Basically blowing someones head off, but retaining that clean sound for dramatic dynamic switches. I also play with my low end all the way up, cause well it has more kick.

Have you taken a look at Carvins?

They have a nice deep fluid tone that just kinda soothes the ear as you play. I'm pretty sure they might suit you.

I've only played with a single Carvin for my music tech class, we used some sort of stratocaster along with it, she had a deep sexy tone. Looks somewhat like this amp. It's how do you say, uses the tube instead of solid state ? I need to brush up on my knowledge of amps and guitars, gosh >.<

not fair considering my neighbors have sex to much and to loud, but that's besides the point.

You are right! They are very pricey i've yet to find a tube amp in the $300-$400 dollar range, one of good value that is, with a great tone.

I think i'm biased towards Carvin...

It works like a ******* beauty, and there is a huge difference from my Peavy 8" with a 25w output.

Two Peaveys, you must like Peavey? Why not Line 6 if i may ask? How loud does the 100 watt go? Cause my 15 watt Spider IV is pretty explosive for a 15 watt amo, but it sure doesn't compare to a 100watt xp

You must have misunderstood, there's one Peavey hahah. I did consider Line 6 cause that's what my instruction school uses, but this had a bigger bang for my buck, plus I'm not to fond of effects other than distortion.

The 100w shook my whole house with treble-4 mid-6 bass-10 on vol-2.

A semi-hollow or hollow (hollow will be my next buy haha) have a raw sound, distortion or not. Raw is my thing with how hard and furious I play, but for when i want pure beauty, I play that acoustic over there.

Also, nice touch with the "<4" I lol'd

I'm an acoustic guitarist, so i would recommend an acoustic guitar.

I personally advocate the Silvertone sd50, she's an improved pd2 with Grover tuners and a solid spruce top. She's priced at around 230 on musiciansfriend, but i think you can get her for a bit cheaper on amazon. She's a beauty, i have a video of me playing one of my songs if you'd like to check out her sound.

She outdos $600 guitars and i've had some people say she's better than some $800 fenders/Gibsons/and an Epiphone.

But don't take my word for it, i'm just some dude on the internet aha. That's just what i think you should get :)

Note:Silvertone is owned by Samick which makes the guitars for Gibson and Fender and a whole splurge of other brands.
