I always thought NASA invented velco, but then I looked it up and found out I was wrong....

Out of the OP, only memory foam has a direct link to NASA. Hang gliders and Satellite TV had minor help from NASA. None of the others are connected to NASA in any way, many being invented before NASA was founded. Also, the silicon microchip was first built by Fairchild Semiconductor based on Texas Instruments Germanium integrated circuit. Teflon is a brand name of Polytetrafluoroethylene manufactured by DuPont, Polytetrafluoroethylene was invented in 1938 by Roy Plunkett of Kinetic Chemicals, twenty years before NASA was founded.

I think that this is a weak argument for NASA. The athletic shoes and modern tires are the only things that make a difference. At least we know who to blame for the car batteries that cost more than normal cars, while doing almost nothing for the environment.
