The pain doesn't hit for about 5 seconds. During those 5 seconds, something close to a nuclear bomb will go off. You blew up Megaton didn't you? Yeah, that'd happen. Then the pain would set in.

I actually do that, and I'm a guy. Basically, the crazier you act, the less people want to fuck with you. Don't act crazy in a violent way, but actually make them think you're a total nutter :D
