I see people talking about gun control. and I ALWAYS see it when a shooting happens (The batman movie thing was one of the worst for it)
In Ireland, you can only own hunting rifles/shotguns, you need a license for them, can't carry them in public, and can only hunt on land that was approved.
If I wanted a gun, in my small town, I could probably get one within 3-4 hours on any given day. You can make guns legal, it would still be the same, a law isn't going to stop mass murders, if someone is crazy enough, they'll find a way. Yes, it's easier in the US to get all the **** needed, but it's possible anywhere in the world, gun control can't, and won't stop it

Police carry guns to protect themselves, NOT you. Don't count on them.

When seconds count, the police are only minutes away.

I went to a pretty large gun show this weekend and I gotta say, I love guns so much more after seeing mounted machine guns in action and everything. If you guys ever get the chance, go.

I would much rather have it and not need it, than need it and not have it

Well what if a black kid with a white hoodie an arizona and skittles is walking down my neighborhood? I should be allowed to carry one...

If guns (or any weapons) weren't manufactured, there wouldn't be a need for people to defend themselves. Sounds alot more logical to me...

87.2% of the people who own a gun never get a chance to use it when a crime is being committed near them.

Of the almost 13% who do, most of them actually hurt themselves and do not "save" anybody or "stop crimes from being committed" like they want you to believe.

Most gun accidents in the US are just that: accidents, done by people who own guns and get comfortable with them, accidentally hurting themselves.

Most gun violence in the US is done using guns legally bought, i.e. most gun violence in the US is NOT done by guns gotten on the black market.

The exception to this rule is Texas. In texas, gun control is almost non-existent, and so is gun violence. Gun rights activists would lead you to believe that this is because "if everybody has a gun, you will think twice before attacking anybody." However, this does not hold true in other states with lax gun control.

Most places that advocate gun control are also the places that have large cities (which are, without fail, places where lots of crimes are committed), so they see a need that other states do not usually see.

Don't care about your stance, just make sure you know the ACTUAL facts behind the ideas you are talking about.

As much as I think carrying a gun would be cool, think of all the people who make you lose faith in humanity. Now imagine them being allowed to carry a weapon everywhere.

Because stabbing people to death is quite messy and the screaming attracts too much attention.
User avatar #190 to #187 - vikingfaen (10/15/2012) [-]
And a gunshot doesn't attract attention?

The 2nd amendment says We can have a gun when we're in a militia, but theres no need for a militia these days. Thats why I'm against guns, unless by cops, hunting, and stuff.
I'm I live in Illinois, only state in good ole U.S.A that makes it illegal to carry a concealed weapon, so my opinion may be biased.
Thats just me, thumb me down gun collectors and other forms of americans, just posting my opinion.
