A life form would not be indicative of the planet recovering significantly. Some creatures can survive with virtually no oxygen. Cockroaches are tough little bastards. Only vegetation that relied on photosynthesis would mean the planet was starting to recover.

No, they were looking specifically for plant life because that is what would be required to restart Earth's ecosystem. Moving creatures had the potential to crush, eat or kill any plant life which they were pretty desperate to find by this point.

But a living creature could guide her to a plant.

Unlikely since plant life was so scarce.

if a group of humans some how survived for 700 years, there must be some plant life feeding them, keeping them alive, point is. You don't know, so don't fucking blow it up.

What? No humans survived though, all of them were on the ship or long since dead. There was no sign of animal life in the film, only cockroaches which survive pretty much everything you throw at them. The cannon was probably original for blowing apart debris but if it was required for defence, so be it.

Im saying though, you don't know KNOW that for sure, there COULD possibly be humans living underground away from the (believed to be) poisoness atmosphere, that heard the space ship.

The argument that the movement (that she's shooting at) is a living being that would lead to plant life, while somewhat logical, doesn't fit with the movie's canon.

Eve was sent out regularly, if significant plant life had developed (enough to sustain life for species above insects), she would've been aware.

So while you didn't lose, you still kinda lost in at least one aspect...

Again, there's nothing to "lose" here. its still factualy that it couldve been something helpful that she just obliterated.

Wall-E doesn't need to use weapons to protect itself for example when EVE came. Replacement parts were never shown and if they were they were only shown when EVE wen back to base (sent back into the shop) and repaired by something else. No on ever said that EVE was shut down because she was faulty, They nearly stated that she can be shut down against her will by an outside source. This is bad for a "highly advanced" robot.

Wall-E 2 should be purely about upgrades and evolution, in my opinion. Humans get back in shape and robots get upgraded.

With this level of artificial intelligence, I don't think there's much difference in way of thinking. I mean, machines could emulate human-grade emotions.

Honestly I thought that the human race was fucked with how long they were gone.

They have no experience in living a life that requires work
With how sanitized the ships must be the bacteria and diseases that will most definitely still exist on the Earth would simply kill them. If no one got sick on the ship, why keep medical equipment? And with how unhealthy they are a little cold could kill them.
Not to mention... technically with how much lower gravity was on the ship.. the gravity of Earth plus their now entirely weaker bone structure... there is simply no way they can survive on the planet.
Humanity was fucked the moment they left Earth.

We'll just have to wait and see, right? By that logic, the humans shouldn't have survived at the end of the film and yet they're there. If my eyes and memory did and do not deceive me, then they shouldn't have been able to set foot on earth at all.
The plants grew back, and the humans will harden up. Things will work out. Otherwise it'd be boring.

We only saw a couple of their first steps on the planet for only a couple of minutes... plus the movie is going with cartoonish logic with a lot of that.
I'm talking about.. IF it was realistic.
