Cause you know, teaching bulbasaur any HM is a good idea.

He's actually a good pick if you know how to train him.

btw i also did thumb you up, any hm on any "keeper" or "belt" pokemon is stupid. Some have great base attack (strength/surf) but you can easily find better.

Only one I would keep would be fly in my opinion, the dodge from the charge can be strategic.

From what I hear,

his evolution a total badass and only one of the three first-gen starter pokemon to make it to OU+.

That, plus his grass typing makes him useful against that bitch-ass swampert.

Useful against first three gyms.

Weird that I picked up some sarcasm in your comment.

Bulbasaur is invincible in the 4th gym due to a bug.

Really? Well thanks for the tip! What exactly is the bug?

In the original RBY, opponents were programmed to use super-effective moves if possible, regardless of what the move does.

Every pokemon in Erika's gym has Poisonpowder, which is poison element. Bulbasaur is grass, poison's weakness. It doesn't check bulbasaur's 2nd element (poison) which makes it immune to poisonpowder.

Similar exploits exist in other places, send out Koffing against Lance's dragonite and watch it spam Agility.

no because agility is psychic and psychic is super effective against poison
