Because all people who are not white are entirely deserving of death, and only wealthy countries should be allowed to survive, because white people are OBVIOUSLY inherently better than any other race. I mean, it's not like 3rd and 2nd world countries are due to be the driving force behind financial and technological expansion over the next century... yeah, seems logical.... nothing at all wrong with that philosophy......

Cultures are never bounded entities. They have only ever existed in relation to other cultures, and expand, change and come in to being as a result of their interactions with other cultures.

And the last statement is an extremely contentious one - it entirely depends on how one approaches the concept of identity. Someone can self identify as a member of a certain culture (LGBT, Gypsy etc) wilst being categorised externally as a member of another culture, without identifying with said culture. For example, to use an outdated example, someone could be referred to as "Yugoslavian," yet would consider themselves, within their own community, to be "Serbian," and actually react in a very negative manner to the term "Yugoslavian."

In any case, culture is a contentious term in and of itself. It doesn't really reflect the complexity of human society, and is rooted in theclimate of classification that dominated anthropology during the outdated structural functionalist phase.

I think to describe Foucoult in such terms is to ascribe a little too much of a marxist philosophical approach to his work - in my view, at least, a description of something which is not ideal does not need to provide a solution.

To be honest, Abu Lughod puts it better than I; I am currently pretty much paraphrasing what she says - read “Writing against Culture” by Lila Abu Lughod, (google it, it’s very close to the top) and have done with it. I hope you find it interesting, and thank you for demonstrating that there are people on Funnyjunk with both intellectual capacity and the desire to utilise it! Peace, bro.

Perhaps I have overstated my claim – cultures, rather than being entirely unbounded, are never completely bounded entities. Whilst boundaries exist, they are fluid and eminently permeable.
However, concerning your opinion that I am "not thinking about culture in its real deep sense" and subsequent reference to Sartre, I am more convinced by the work of post structuralists such as Abu-Lughod (not that their work is infallible, far from it) in their approach to the existence and nature of culture; that the concept of culture is an essentially Western construction, and is, possibly, becoming outdated in modern academic discourse.

The following is largely based upon Abu-Lughod’s “writing against culture,” mainly on account of it being readily to hand, and since I’ve left most of my notes concerning “culture” at home, and it’s been a while since I studied this.
The manner in which boundaries relating to culture are drawn are based upon fundamental assumptions made by individuals who define themselves in terms of culture- most commonly, drawn between the Western anthropologist, historian or philosopher, and the often vaguely defined Non Western "other." Culture is systematically utilised in the West as an easy manner of defining an other, much in the same way that race was used during the period prior to the mid 20th C, in terms of creating, implicitly, difference "in ways so rigid that they might as well be considered innate.” Seeing as difference in culture is based upon the self, and “the self is always a construction, never a natural or found entity, even if it has that appearance... the process of creating a self through opposition to an other always entails the violence of repressing or ignoring other forms of difference.” one can criticise the concept of culture in its reliance upon a subjective and limited set of rules as to what actually constitutes difference.

Take over the world, delete all lines between dirt and other dirt, claim yourself as a real life Satan and start killing idiots who ruin this world then say you are sorry for doing what you did. If people rage at you, give them some money or something. Only normal folks allowed in governments and anyone rich can not get into the government, too.

I haz fixed it. If all fails and people want their old Earth back, play some Twisted Metal mind ******* with them and nuke a super volcano. Thus, their "old" Earth is back

HAHAHAHA ...
People cant get along with their own families .. so much for getting along with the whole world ...

Countries have a reason for existence . It is not to seperate but to unite .
Its just imposible to unite something that is broken up so bad .
You fight with your family , and if you dont , you fight with your neighbour .. and if you dont you fight with your community ....village ... state....country ..

You want the world to Unite ?
First love the people that are CLOSER to you ..
If we all did the same there would be no reason to hate each other , or ever feel un-loved ....and we would eventualy unite because there would be nothing seperating us .
But that can not be done without moderation . Hence COUNTRIES !

I really don't have beef with ANYONE because I am AWARE that it is pointless. That's all it ****** takes. AWARENESS. I used to ****** gangbang dude. I robbed people, fought a good amount of times, treated women like ****. Don't think for a second I don't know what conflict is all about. I KNOW ALL ABOUT IT. I like to fight still, but I know that it will only cause bigger problems later with more people, so I keep it in the ring. Look, every individual is in control of their own personal reality. So if you want to see peace then all you gotta do is that, SEE IT. Those who still want to fight and be afraid will always end up destroying themselves even if it's the minority.

The thing with Germany Russia And Japan being bad before is complete ******** as well.

Germany had a corrupt leader, look through their history one problem like that throught a large period of time isn't really anything.

Russia only wanted more land thus the wars against countries near them which made the Iron Curtain Countries. That was basically the only thing wrong the rest was just conflict against America which you can't consider bad because they were both at fault.

As for Japan... what the **** have they done that was wrong? They were asked to help in the war, they did. They kicked ass, they started losing so they tried a different route to win this war. Then they got nuked and lost.

I also want to include that Russia has barely evolved more than the middle east, they are basically at the same level except instead of killing people from other countries they are just killing other russians.
