There was a time that a friend of mine was visiting relatives in Texas. They came upon a road that was blocked by the police. An officer came to the vehicle and informed my friend's father that the road was closed. He looked ahead and saw no obvious reason, so he asked the officer why. The officer gestured towards the road and asked if he couldn't see the snow on the road. And indeed, there was enough snow on the road to have a thin layer covering it. My friend's father kindly replied that they were from Michigan. The officer let them pass.
