thepalmtoptiger (10/03/2012) [-] I guess that's one way to look at it, but since the movie specifically called them werewolves I was expecting a half man half human hybrid. I'm not saying it's bad that they're huge wolves because giant wolves are pretty cool, but it isn't what I expected.

ebonywyvern (10/03/2012) [-] The books explain that they were never really werewolves. Instead, they were just shape-shifters. It had to do with how their ancestors in that particular tribe were possessed by wolf spirits rather than being born wolf-men. So they were never werewolves to begin with. It's all explained in the last book. They're more like "spirit-warriors".
