Since the gene for dwarfism is dominant, it is possible that one of the midget babies is a carrier of the recessive "normal height" gene. In a generation, there may be another "normal height" baby. That would lead to an interesting turn for your religion (assuming you're still alive at that point).

Dont remember exactly how it went, but something like this:
