yeah man that whole thing was pretty fucked up on both ends. It was a big deal in my town, because after he twittered that he jumped off the GW bridge, nobody knew if he actually did it for like a week. Aparantly he was a bit of a drama queen, so some people thought that he was a bluffing and just ran away. A kid i knew actually knew him, he said he was a nice guy but wasn't surprised that he had killed himself and all. I think his roommate was a dick and all, but i don't think that his life should be ruined by a prank that he clearly regrets. He learned his lesson, and there is no reason to ruin more than one life for the suicide, he didn't know it was going to happen.

Yeah I totally agree, I'm just a freshman (on Busch!) so it's not like I was really part of it when it happened, but still its impact reached me and a basket of feels to both of them, what with the media demonizing his roommate and then the courts using him as a precedent for anti-hate laws he really didn't deserve to have his life ruined and I doubt he did what he did because of hate.
