don't judge too fast !

I'm not muslim,i'm atheist, but i still don't judge people's beliefs because of what i heard on fox news,i always try to make sure of what i heard so i don't look ignorant who act like he knows everything but the truth is whatever he knows is based on lies and bullshit,i'm not saying that muslims didn't do the 9/11 but i'm saying that we need to know the reality of the islam before we judge it,and " IF " i mean imagin that the 9/11 is caused by muslms well you should know that the people who did it are using the islam as cover for them that's all,but if you come back to that religion you'll find something totally different than what we always heard, now it's up to you to believe or not but at least don' tbe a jerk and throw your judgments which based on ignorance or misunderstanding.
again,i'm not muslim,i'm atheist but i just want to be truthful, thnx

What people don't realize is that the Islamic Extremists are basically like the KKK of the Islamic world. I have a lot of Muslim friends and they're the nicest people I've met.

Quran (8:39) - "And fight with them until there is no more fitna (disorder, unbelief) and religion should be only for Allah"
non entirely peaceful

"And slay them wherever ye find them, and drive them out of the places whence they drove you out, for persecution is worse than slaughter. And fight not with them at the Inviolable Place of Worship until they first attack you there, but if they attack you (there) then slay them. Such is the reward of disbelievers."
-Quran 2:191

Oh hi, you quoted it wrong.

Here's the actual quotation:

"And kill them wherever you overtake them and expel them from wherever they have expelled you, and fitnah is worse than killing. And do not fight them at al-Masjid al- Haram until they fight you there. But if they fight you, then kill them. Such is the recompense of the disbelievers."

Did you read it? "...and expel them from wherever they have expelled you". Meaning, if someone expels you [from the land] you should fight them back, as in SELF-DEFENSE. If someone expels someone else from the land (like when the Makkans tried to expel Muslims from the land), it's considered an act of terrorism. Therefore, they should be punished for rejecting faith and peace.

Please don't post random quotes from the Qu'ran that make it seem like Islam is a religion of hatred.

This must be the most fucking retarded comment have ever read.
read the content carfully, try to understand it and then say whatever you want to say.
i'm not justifing the terrorism here,i'm only saying that we need to blame certain muslims not all of them ! because killing people is forbidden in islam, and these terrorists misunderstood so things in the religion and then they used it as a cover like i said.
so this is NOT about justifying the crime !

The issue facing Islam is the exact same issue that Christianity had in the Medieval era: the common population doesn't know how to read, and so those who do can interpret the Quran however they like.

Knowledge is Power.

It's quite simple, really: Islam really started out as a peaceful religion.
However that changed when the Christian Crusades brought up the massacre of both Jews and Mulsims (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siege_of_Jerusalem_%281099%29).
So, really, the Muslims learned to deliver extreme violence from the Christians (butthurt Christfags can GTFO, history doesn't lie).
The Muslim's main fault nowadays is that they behave like the Christians did up to 600 years ago, killing anyone why openly dares to question their religion.
And that fault is mainly caused by that fact that they refuse to take a second to judge things: if an Imam preaches it, than it MUST be true to the Sharia Law, therefore the deed must be done (a woman needs only be accused of adultry, no proof is required, she is most likely going to be stoned/beheaded/hanged/shot)
Sad part is IMO that's how 90% of the Muslims from Islam countries think/react.

Islam is a peaceful religion, the terrorists simply use religion as an excuse. Stupid people don't see that though

"Look, this is the part that tells you to kill me"

A few verses of love does not make the book good after you read the ordering of several unnecessary murders.

and a few extremists in islam doesnt mean that all muslims are violent and terrorists
User avatar #99 - esmebuffay (09/26/2012) [-]
The basic message of most religions (Islam and Christianity included) is peace and love, but they all have a line or two about killing people if they misbehave. So some of the assholes only read that line and skip over the hundreds of lines that say not to kill people. And then the only people in that religion that get noticed are the assholes so people assume they're all like that.

its not the Muslim religion.that religion is based around peace, jihad is the belief that the Islamic people should kill all those that don't believe in their beliefs.men are the ones who created jihad, its just a dumb of a concept as the morman religion.
User avatar #92 to #86 - Rahmaniac (09/26/2012) [-]
Jihad doesn't mean to "kill all those that don't believe in their beliefs". Jihad literally means "the spiritual struggle within oneself against sin".

Terrorists (we don't consider them Muslims) use Jihad as an excuse to commit acts of terrorism.

Your description was so terrible I could barely make out your argument. Let me hit you with some knowledge. It was Islam that caused 9/11, rather it was a certain group of Muslim's interpretation of Islam that lead them to performing these acts. Radical muslims are still muslims. They didn't use Islam as a "cover," they used it as justification, however misguided it may be. You are correct in not judging a group based on the actions of a few, however.

Idiots and fundamentalists pick and choose what parts of their texts (holy or otherwise) to practice and preach.
One should not blame the majority for the actions of a minority.
Many Muslims I have encountered have been ignorant and narrow-minded. However, I have also encountered just as many people of other faiths and beliefs that are as equally ignorant and narrow-minded.
There was one Muslim guy in one of my old Chemistry classes who refused to give to charity at Christmas because he believed "it all goes to the Jews who run the corporations" and couldn't be convinced otherwise.
I know a guy called Shane who constantly goes on about religion being evil, narrow-minded and used only to persecute those of different ideals; and then he uses atheism to bash other people's beliefs, attempt to force them to give up the ideals they've had since childhood and then never listen to what they've got to say on their side of the argument when they try to explain why they believe what they believe.
TL;DR version: The most dickish about their beliefs are often the most vocal, or capable of radical actions and shouldn't be used as representation of the whole.

The problem with religion (by which I mean Christianity, Judaism, and Islam, because let's be honest, nobody is really talking about any other religion in this context) is that there are some really messed up things written right there in the holy books. They condone some horrible acts. I'm not saying that's all there is in the bible/quran, but it's part of it.
So what we get is the "extremists" who focus on those parts and ignore the calls for peace, and the "moderates" who focus on the good parts and choose to ignore the bad.
But the thing that gets me is that ALL of these people, extremists and moderates alike, claim that their holy book contains the absolute truth. That's (one reason) why I call bullshit. It's impossible to reconcile the fact that the holy book is flawed with the claim that it is the perfect word of God.
