Just gonna let you know that the overweight fee is not because the aiplane can't handle it, it's because of the dudes that have to carry your stuff into the plane (not the only reason though).
Also, airlines don't only use their space to carry your stuff, they carry other stuff I know someone that works on an airline that told me that sometimes they carry guns and nuclear stuff)

Just so you guys know.... the shuttle has its own wings too so it generates more Lift (the force that keeps the plane in the air) and i understand that the lift to weight ratio the shuttle produces isn't sufficient enough but you gotta remember that the plane is empty and can handle much more.

Another little fact is that they don't charge you extra just because of the plane taking more weight but another factor for it is to pay the guys that lift it for doing more work

I thought this was some sort of Rule 34 on airplanes...

I agree, over weight luggage is bull-fucking-shit. If anything, they should take the combined weight of the passenger and their luggage, but that would be descriminating against fat ppl, and we dont want that, now do we?

Instead a 120lbs woman who was nice enough to lend you her pen when you were checking in and looked really cute while being frisk searched and you really hoped to having gotten seated next to because you were just before her in the line, carrying 51lbs of luggage gets charged. Meanwhile the two 400lbs "gentlemen" with 40lbs luggage, who should have bought 4 seats to accomodate their enormous corpus', or even better bought 6 seats to make sure that noone would accidentally be trapped in a metal tube for 8 hours, forced to sitting in the seat BETWEEN their stinking rolls, gets complimented for travelling light. Fuck you Delta Airlines.
