So, yeah.

Hardcore gamers got one of these beauties in their house, just in case
(and by house i mean our moms basement and by basement i mean our rooms, right next to your shoe shelf, or coat-hanger cuz lets face it, it looks messy and there is tools in the entry of every basement... and this is where we live )

during a power-blackout you can easily tell who is hardcore gamers
or you know... who have really prepared themselves for the upcoming zombie apocalypse. (and yes, i said "for the upcoming", not "in case of a")

it depends...
really basic technology would not get effected by an EMP, but more sophisticated electronics would
in a diesel engine for example, you ignite the fuel by building up an enormous pressure, get the pressure pump working and you will have a running diesel engine. no microchips to get burned by the Pulse
hook the diesel generator directly up to the electrical system, (hot wire or basically skip the fuses, they are properly blown anyways)
then you would have a fully functional electrical system. light bulbs are a whole other matter, those can be tricky to find intact. but at this point we got the LED lights which is extremely difficult to short circuit.

It you have computer parts wrapped in their antistatic wrapping when they are not in use, they should protected from the pulse (unless it comes from really nearby, in that case it would be a larger pulse and the antistatic wrapping would be fried too)
i personally have enough spare disk's, cabinets, CPU's and motherboards to build 3 and a half computer, all wrapped up in antistatic wrapping.

so if the EMP pulse originated from more that 35km from my house, i would be fine and i could still be gaming and pissing with the lights On during an apocalypse

I wouldnt say that i would feel nothing and have the best time of my life if this happened.... it would be ehartbreaking to know i have loved ones who would suffer this fate and how any person i try to save is more likely to die then undie than to actually become safe.

But if it hapened.... it would certainly liven the place up a little........ mfw it DOES happen
