I don't understand why Atheists are conveyed as hateful towards religion, im catholic and i have tons of atheist friends who just don't give a fuck about religion. if you asked any of them what they thought about religion they'd say "I don't care" and they are the coolest people i've ever met

That's even more universal. At least in most of the western world it is. I've never met anyone, theist or atheist, who believed that people should be locked up for their beliefs. I was referring to the way people treat each other, which is better than we like to think.
